Community and clinical care

Children’s Hub

Our Children’s Hub provides same-day assessment, advice and treatment for children and young people with acute illnesses.

The service brings together experienced clinicians to help children and young people receive the right care, at the right time, while providing parents and carers with appropriate advice and support.

What can the Children’s Hub help with?

The Children’s Hub is designed for children and young people who become unwell and need assessment for an acute illness.

Our clinical team will assess your child’s needs, provide advice and treatment where appropriate, and help determine whether any further care or follow-up is needed.

How to access the Children’s Hub

Appointments are arranged through your GP practice.

If your child is unwell, please contact your GP practice reception team. They will take the appropriate details and advise whether an appointment at the Children’s Hub is suitable.

Appointments are subject to clinical need and availability.

What happens at the appointment?

Your child will be assessed by an experienced clinician who will discuss their symptoms, carry out an appropriate assessment and advise you on the next steps.

Where appropriate, treatment or advice will be provided as part of the appointment. If your child needs further assessment or care, the clinical team will advise you on what happens next.
